On the western side, the land of the Udlny Department is surrounded by a ridge of mountains, known under the common name “Stavropol Iodniya” or “Stavropol Mountains”. It begins to the south with the highest mountain, Ryzhament, reaching almost 2700 ft. Well. m. Standing on the top of it at the southern edge, you can see such a large landscape that embraces a space of 2-3 thousand square meters. winds through the valleys of the Kuban. The river itself seems to be a narrow ribbon emerging from the Bataliashinsky gorge to the south in front of Mount Stryzhament and from there turning to the west. The Cossack villages located along it: Nevinomysskaya, Suvorovekaya, Nikolaevskaya, etc., located 15-20 minutes apart from each other, are visible, like in the palm of your hand, as small dots on a green background®. The arrival of a railway, moving at the highest speed, seems to be a barely moving point, following the movement of which becomes boring and uninteresting, like following a small insect slowly crawling on the ground. In addition to the view from this mountain to the southwest, a very impressive view also opens to the southeast in the direction of Terek. The indigenous inhabitants of its 40 families, both men and women, are distinguished by their large stature, which is immediately noticeable when walking along the streets between the neat small houses with vegetable gardens and orchards. As it turns out, not so long ago this village, by order of the Kuban authorities, was inhabited by Cossacks from the nearest villages. Previously, there was a Cossack picket here, pomfshaviyeya in do-

The freely good settlement, built during the time of Catherine P. Tso, pacified the Caucasus, was abolished and the village was populated. And for the first establishment of inhabitants, it was allowed later to dismantle stones and wood for a very cheap price for the construction of a church and tea houses. Of course, all the internal, large buildings of the city were soon dismantled, but the walls remained little damaged for a long time, and only in the last ten years, when people from other cities began to appear in this deserted corner, they began to dismantle the stones of the walls. In fact, for three years the administration of the Kuban Region strictly ordered not to touch the remnants of the former Ukrainian infiltrators. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid the situation now to serve as a coal miner for some of the coal miners and residents of the city.
