Many crossings and approaches to them (in the form of gates or dams) are in a dilapidated state, which makes it impossible to count on proper communication with both banks.

Settlements are narrowing the width of roads, which will force the front of columns to be reduced; The road surface in many places is so faulty that it delays even normal everyday traffic. rya =) Sy. attached G p. 208.

Postal routes, the width of which should be 30 fathoms, are plowed in many places and in some areas do not exceed 2-3 fathoms.

This is (regardless of the direction) the general state of the paths. As for the roads from Zhmerinka to Kamenets-Podolsky, since these roads cross tributaries of the river. The Dniester and sumya gullies, the descents and ascents through which are almost undivided, the movement of military weights along them will encounter even greater difficulties. |

In particular, our operational areas are in the following conditions:

Travel will be associated with great difficulties, due to the lack of good roads. Crossings, although paved over the river. r. Sluch and Goryn can also delay movement. The easy possibility of damage, intentional or accidental, to these crossings (in most cases - dams and shallows)

The roads that we can use for this movement are as follows: d) Proskurov—Kupel—Bazalya—Teofipol—Yampol 2) Proskurov—Mykolaiv—Korchevka—Lyakhovtsy. Blogorodka.

4) From Starokonstantinov to Proskurov.

The Starokonstantinov-Proskurov highway ensures proper traffic flow by creating parallel roads and river crossings. Buzhok and Bug (at Proskurov himself) can delay movement.

The following roads run parallel to the highway:

d) Starokonstantinov—Kuzmin—Krasilov—Oleshin.

2) Starokonstantinov Kapystin.

5) From Zhmerinka (Bar) to Kamenets-Podolsky (Khotin).

When moving in this direction, the following roads can be chosen:

These roads are extremely difficult for traffic, as

A general conclusion about the properties of the area for conducting military ACTIONS in it.

The region is located at the crossroads between the center of Galishir - Lvov and K1ev - the center of the South-Western region, on the one hand, and between the Privislyansky region with the adjacent Northern region and our south (Odessa), on the other - why, in the event of a war between Rosaia and Austria, military actions in it can have a decisive impact on the outcome of the campaign.

The dislocation of the Austrian army, the direction of its railways and the location of fortified points lead to the conclusion that the strategic deployment of the Austrian army could take place on the Kolomyia-Lvov-Przemysl front.

The border strip of the Southern District is open, as a result of which an invasion of the region from Austria can

Almost along its entire length, the region is convenient for concentrating large military masses: the surface is hilly—in places almost flat, only its southern part is crossed by deep gullies; swamps are found only along the course of some rivers and streams (especially Sluch and Goryn).
