7) Lake Upper (1'/" ver. length, 1 ver. width and 3 fathoms depth) and Lower (length and width up to '/" ver., depth 2 ars.), formed by the Leo River, lie among the swamps; the banks are barely raised and overgrown with bushes.
8) 2 lakes in the Slavechansky volost, connected to each other by a channel: Lake Korma - 2'/" long, 2 versts wide and up to 3 fathoms deep, and Chernoe - 2'/" long, 1 verst wide, up to 2'/" fathoms deep. These lakes lie among swamps and access to them is difficult. It must be assumed that before the lakes were much larger, but gradually they are covered with peat from the shores; in the future, in all likelihood, both lakes will disappear and be replaced by swamps. There are quite a few examples of such in Poland: this is indicated by the names of many swamps in the same Slavechanskaya volost (for example, the DЪdovo Lake swamp, the Mostovoe Lake swamp).
