^’ The purpose of the Field Engineering Troops, until 1797, was determined as follows: a) according to the Anstalt of 1724, “Dylo ShMinerskoye pristroesh zorodove and ovadazh chinitiya podikopy to conduct saps, etc.”; 6) according to the instructions of 1743, Prince Gesen of Homburg, “when the a’rosia is close to the red or anything is brought, then it is necessary to see the minors in the atrocity soon be and from aproshev the indicated place will sink into the ground until the ditch itself and when you pass through the ditch, then set up your own hall and mines in your place get ready"; c) according to the Regulations of Count Shuvalov of 1756, the mining company was supposed to be part of the corps of field engineers and was subordinate to the engineer, and the mining art consisted of the following; “everywhere sat, d’alaliae halls, min and the like in d’lati podkot”... “especially through practice, they knew gunpowder for exploding 694085 1tv6r290b.”

So, we see that until 1757 Miners were intended primarily only for underground mine work. Although with the establishment, on January 11, 1757, of an engineering regiment of 6 companies (2 miners, 2 schoners and 2 craftsmen), their range of activity expanded significantly and the Schoners were closer to the Sappers of the present time, but this 1) did not last long - the Schoners were destroyed several times and 2) under the army After all, there were field engineers to perform the duties of the current Field Engineering Troops.

Although during the Turkish War of 1877-1878, there were quite a few military engineers in the army, who were also entrusted, along with the Field Engineering Troops, with the attack and defense of fortified positions and the arrangement of military crossings, i.e. this work, which, I assert, now constitutes the direct specialty of only the Field Engineering Troops; however, this cannot serve as proof that all this is composed

It also shows the specialty of a military engineer, and that he, with success, can replace an officer of the Field Engineering Troops.

Military engineers were assigned to the troops during the Turkish War, not realizing that some branches of Field Engineering could not be performed by sappers, but only because of the extreme shortage of Field Engineering officers. So, for example, there were sapper battalions that set out on a campaign with only 9 officers, instead of the required 24. Meanwhile, with the opening of military operations, the mass of military engineers, having ceased or significantly reduced their activity, remained at that time without any appointment. |

It is very clear that in order to replenish the shortage of commanders in the Field Engineering Troops, it was most expedient to appoint military engineers, most of whom, after all, by their initial education and upbringing (i.e., before the Academy) are more familiar with field engineering than any of the commanders of other types of weapons!).

Without wishing to in the least belittle the dignity of military engineers and fully aware that they, in their scientific education, are superior to an officer of the Field Engineering Troops, I, with all this, allow myself to express my opinion that military engineers, with the current system of training them in peacetime, cannot, without damage to the cause, transfer an officer of the Field Engineering Troops to the military time.

To be a good officer of the Field Engineering Troops, the theoretical knowledge with which the school graduates us is not enough. Field Engineering is not a science or an art that has stopped at a certain degree of perfection. If you trace the historical course of its development, you can see that not a single branch of military warfare is subject to such drastic and constant changes as Field Engineering.

No textbooks or regulations can produce an officer who fully satisfies all the requirements of the modern state of Polevoy r) Unfortunately, to this day it has not been established that officers from other branches of arms, who in fairly large numbers are entering Nikol, will be assigned to the Engineering Troops for at least 1 year. Engineering Academy, as a result of which sometimes a diploma of a military engineer is obtained by persons who are practically completely unfamiliar with the art of Field Engineering. If in the future this circumstance is eliminated, it is not always and not completely. The need for such a secondment is obvious, which is proven, among other things, by the practice of Mikh. Artillery Academy, before entering which officers of other branches of arms are required to undergo artillery service for a period of years.
