The ridge either lowers or rises, and passes to the south in a wide strip along two neighboring provinces: along the Vilna province - along part of the Vileika district, in which rise: Kondraty at 1015 f., and Myadzyul at 742 f., Sventsyansky and Vilna, in which the highest points are located at M$dniki at 1036 f., Yuzefatov $ - for 973 f., Yankovschizn® - for 959 f., Zabirzhi - 938, etc.; through Oshmyansy Uezd, in which the high points are: Pupishki in 1106 f. From Dokshitsy its direction goes to Domalshkovichi, from there to the border of Minsk and Borisovskato u#z. and in Lysaya Gor the entire ridge reaches its greatest height—1129.8 feet above the surface of the sea. From here it goes through Mingxu Uezd to Dubrovo, ascending to 1117 f., Zal'sye, ascending to 1091 f., Rakov, Volma, Koydanov and Ozero, ascending. at 722 f. From here the ridge goes to cape Kovalevichi (773 f.), Kondratovichi (752 f.), Yushkovichi (772 f. above sea level), Mitskevichi, not far from Nesvizh in the Novogrudok connection. To the east the depression follows the flow of the Dn®ira. On the eastern half of the Dnieper, the highest level begins in the Gomel district of Mogilev province, the average height of which reaches 550 feet. above sea level (village Pchelovka—651 f., Zakruzhye—630 f., Korma—537 f., etc.) 8).

Despite the fact that the ridge we described above only at a few points exceeds the height of 1000 feet, it has a very important significance on the distribution of the waters of the entire Rosai and especially the Belarusian region. This theft separates the basins of the Western Bug, the NFman with Shchara, the Western Dvina, the upper right tributaries of the Volga and then the entire upper Podnifirov region.
Thus, in the eastern part of this ridge, in the Smolensk province, the following rivers of the Volga basin originate: Moscow, Vazuza with the tributaries Gzhatyu and Kosnaya, Osuga with Lusa, Ugra with Vorey, etc. From here go to the Dvinsyu basin: the rivers Mezha with Obsha, Luchesa, Bereza and Kasplya with Gobza. In the Dnfprovsyu pool: Vyazma, Vop, Uzha; Sozh and Desna begin here. We named only significant p%ki bolfe; Meanwhile, many more of them originate here.
These rivers, except for Kaspli, originate in the northeastern part of the province, which is a continuous hill.
On the contrary, the rivers of Minsk and Mogilev provinces, and partly Vitebsk provinces, almost all originate on the above-described ridge, which passes through a rather narrow strip. From the top of this ridge
