On the southern border there was no natural boundary that the Dnfir represented to the east. Here the settlements of the Dregovichs merged with the settlements of Polyan and Volynyan. In any case, the border passed south of Pripyat, since the cities of Turov and Mozyr are located on its southern bank. Drevlyansk cities on this border, such as Vruchy, Iskorosten, Vygoshev, Dubrovitsa, Nebl, Gorodno 8), Chertoryesk are located significantly south of Pripyat!*),

The subsequent struggle for the cities along the river. Gorin, the southern tributary of the Pripyat, their transition to the Turov and Volyn principalities completely, it seems, justifies Barsov’s assumption about the squashed population of the Pogorin cities and that many phases of this struggle are needed precisely attributed to this multiplicity 1),

To the east of Pinsk, the political borders of the Turov principality ceased, so that it captured the eastern part of the upper reaches of Pripyat. From here the line went north and connected through the upper reaches of the Shara with the Polotsk line between Novgorod and Vlechesky. On this border in half of the 13th century. are in the records of the cities 3ditovz and Uslonim ").

Again, there was no sharp demarcation here, since the Dregovich settlements continued to the west, capturing a large area along the Western. Bug, where their extreme point was Nurz, at the confluence of the Nurtsa river "^) into the Bug, and in the north they reached Grodno, now a provincial city; here was the Dregoviche city of Bereste "") and Dorogochin "?), both on Bugz. tsflogo with the main region of the tribe - the Principality of Turov, passing into the power of the Noevsky, Volyn, and Polish princes. Moreover, this region, to a large extent, is a product of colonization that moved among the Lithuanian tribes of the Dregovichs, and later the Volynians.

Having finished with the outline of the borders of the principality, let's move on to its cities.

Of the cities of the Turov principality, very few are mentioned in this period, despite the vastness of the country occupied by the Lregovichi. The small number of cities named in the chronicle cannot, however, serve as proof of the sparse population of the country. The quiet, peaceful course of history of the Dregovichi, their weak participation in the general political affairs of Rus', and finally the important circumstance that for the most part, in this period, they belonged to the Mevsky principality, and partly, on their western outskirts, to Volyn, gave little reason for the chronicle to mention their cities.

The main city of the Dregovichi land was T/rovo, mentioned already on the first pages of the photo-pastry (980) 173). It is located on the right bank of the river. Pripyat between the northern hangout of its Sluch and the southern Stviga. At the beginning of the historical life of the Russian people, it was one of the most important cities of Rus'. Closely connected with the Grand Duke Yonovsky, it was handed down to the eldest of the sons of the Grand Duke and, therefore, was considered the most important city. But soon he completely lost his significance and descended to the level of a petty little fisherman. Having betrayed the various tracts of the present-day Turov, as well as the names of your own, the tract and the remains of the Ukrainian playground represent signs of its ancient greatness. In the m$5stechk itself there is a bulk mountain, surrounded by ditches 17 "), which, perhaps, formed an ancient dftinets. This mountain, divided by ditches into two parts, is \/5 versts long, about 3 versts wide. Tradition says that on this mountain stood the prince's house, and behind the mountain, on
