With his conquests, Vseslav significantly expanded his domain; but after his death, the strength and significance of the Principality of Polotsk quickly fell. The reason for this fall is the division of the principality into udfly. It is unknown which of Vseslav’s sons received one or the other share, as well as what exactly the share was. One can only say that in Polotsk there is David '3), in Minsk - Glb 7*), in Izyaslav - Brachielav 75). The most important udflas were Minsk and Polotsk. We know nothing about the boundaries of the last day; The following cities belonged to Minsk: Orsha, Kopys (now the city of Mogil. province) and Drutsk (now a village on the river Druti Mogil. province. The main inheritance of the Polotsk land - Polotsk, in which David Vseslavich reigned, was in a secret union with the rest of Russia... So, this Prince of Polotsk marched with all the princes in 1103 against the Polovtsians 77). He did not refuse an alliance with the Noevsky princes even when! he had to go to see his brother in Minsk *°).

In 1116, GlZb attacked the land of the Dregovichs, greatly devastated its northern outskirts and burned Slutsk. Vladimir threatened him, but he did not pay attention to the threats and himself reproached the Grand Duke. Then Monomakh decided to put an end to the restless society. He himself marched against Minsk with his army, taking with him his sons, David Svyatoslavich and the Olgovichs. They were attacked from different sides. Yevnyaz Smolensyai Vyacheslav Vladimirovich took Orsha and Kopys, cities adjacent to the Smolensk volost; David and Yaropolk, the son of Vladimirov, took it and gave it to “shield,” that is, to plunder Drutsk. Vladimir himself went to the main city of the principality of Minsk, where the culprit of the Glb campaign was also located. Glb shut himself into the city. Not hoping to quickly take the city by storm, Prince Kevsky firmly decided to force it to surrender by starvation. With this goal in mind, he began to build himself a hut in the camp. Having made his orders, having read Glb’s instructions, Vladimir gave him Mineklus back, and he himself returned to his region 8°).
However, although it is not mentioned what the peace treaty between the Cleves and Minsk princes consisted of, from subsequent reports it can be concluded that the Polotsy cities of Orsha and Kopys of this time forever remained belonging to the Smolensk region 81). Moreover, Druchany suffered greatly: the inhabitants of this city were taken to the area by Yaropolk and taken to the Pereyaslavl volost, where the city of Zheldi was built by him.
However, Glb did not keep the peace for long. Around 1119, Vladimir again went to Minsk, this time he took the city, captured GlZba and brought him to Kev, where he died in that
